Cosmetic Surgery Procedures in Costa Rica

Non Surgical & Non Invasive Facelifts

What is a Non-Surgical Facelift/Non-Invasive FaceLift?

There is an increasingly popular trend toward non surgical face lifts and non invasive facelift procedures in the cosmetic surgery field.

Patients are enjoying firmer, smoother and tighter skin thanks to several new techniques.

Radiothermoplasty, or Thermage, uses radio frequency to heat the dermis and promote the grown of new collagen that creates tighter, smoother skin.

Another non-invasive procedure is called microcurrent therapy because it uses electricity to stimulate the facial muscles, increase the production of collagen and improve circulation, all of which lead to a younger looking face.

Fine lines and wrinkles are being smoothed by laser resurfacing that does not require any cutting or anesthesia.

The last procedure is referred to as a thread lift because it involves using a thread-shaped piece of polypropylene being inserted via a needle to hold up sagging skin such as the eyelids.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Non-Surgical Face Lift?

The best thing about non surgical face lifts is that because they do not involve invasive surgery, most people are good candidates.

Many of the procedures work well for people just beginning to show signs of aging or for those who have recently lost weight and have loose skin.

These various techniques have shown excellent results for fine lines, wrinkles, droopy eyelids, sagging neck skin and creases at the nose and mouth.

Each procedure may be good for a different area of the face and all are options for people uninterested in invasive surgical procedures.

Those with extremely loose skin or advanced signs of aging will see improvements after these procedures but the results may be less dramatic.

Non-Surgical Face Lift Costs

The types of non surgical facelifts and non-invasive face lifts vary greatly and thus so does the cost.

Factors that may affect the price of the procedure are the location of the clinic, the choice of surgeon and the amount of area being treated on the face.

The thread lift ranges between $1500-4500. Radiothermoplasty typically runs between $1000-$5000.

Microcurrent treatments may be anywhere between $45-$200 per session depending on package prices and number of desired treatments.

Laser resurfacing may be anywhere between $500 and $3500 also depending on the amount of skin being treated.

What to Expect: Risks, Results and Recovery

Each procedure may have different risks, results and recovery time based on the amount of area being treated and the various healing rates of individuals.

Thermage, microcurrent treatments, laser resurfacing and thread lifts all may have side effects that include redness, swelling, soreness, peeling or blisters.

Recovery time varies by procedure but most allow patients to return to non-strenuous activity within a couple days and ability to resume a normal schedule within a couple of weeks.

Redness and swelling may take slightly longer to subside so it is recommended these procedures not be performed within 3-4 weeks of formal occasions.
