Thermage Facelift Surgery

What is a Thermage Face Lift?

Thermage or radio thermoplasty is a non-surgical treatment that uses radio waves to heat the dermis and firm the skin.

The epidermis is protected from discomfort during the procedure by outside cooling techniques.

Radio frequency is then applied to the skin in short pulses lasting 2-7 seconds.

A total of 400-600 pulses build heat energy until the collagen layers below the surface are hot enough to denature.

This stimulates the collagen to strengthen and tighten as well as the initiates the growth of new collagen.

The process results in firmer, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Thermage Face Lift?

Ideal candidates for Thermage Face Lifts are those who have loose skin from recent weight loss and individuals demonstrating the early signs of aging such as creases or wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Young individuals with acne scars can be treated using radio thermoplasty and see smoother results.

People with extremely loose skin around the neck or heavy jowls will see improvement after a Thermage treatment but the effects will be less dramatic.

Radio Thermoplasty can be used to prevent or delay a surgical face lift and is a great option for those uninterested or unable to undertake surgical procedures.

Thermage Cost

Thermage cost varies based on many factors.

The surgeon performing the procedure, the location of the clinic and the amount of skin being treated make the price range between $1000 and $5000.

Many surgeons offer payment plans to make the treatment easily affordable.

Radio Thermoplasty can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures that could affect the price.

Some doctors may offer discounts for grouping areas together such as the abdomen, thighs or triceps along with the face lift.

What to Expect: Risks, Results and Recovery

Thermage is a non-surgical procedure and thus has few risks involved.

Side effects are rare, but heat could cause redness, soreness, swelling, blisters or peeling.

Generally the symptoms clear after a few days and within a number of weeks patients notice a firmer, smoother face.

Recovery from non-surgical treatments is almost immediate.

Depending on the dose of local anesthetics used, patients may be able to go about a normal day after the procedure.

Find a Radio Thermoplasty Face Lift Surgeon

Thermage face lift surgeons can be found in abundance but it is important to ensure the quality of any cosmetic surgeon.

Check the credentials by researching the surgeon’s educational background, certifications and experience level.

Ask for recommendations from other doctors or acquaintances that have experience with Thermage face lifts.

If necessary, travel to the nearest metropolitan area to seek an experienced surgeon that promotes a comfortable atmosphere to speak about questions or concerns.

A good doctor will have lots of experience and be ready to share information with everyone interested in having a more youthful looking face.
