Chest Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia is a word taken from the Greek words meaning “women-like breasts.”

It can affect one breast or both. There is no doubt that it can cause severe embarrassment for many men. There is no known cause in the vast majority of these cases, although certain drugs may be a contributory factor in some.

Thankfully, surgery can now be performed which can alleviate this problem.

Firstly, you should consider whether a diet and exercise regime would help with the problem. If you are overweight or obese, this could be a reason for the excess fat. Drugs such as anabolic steroids can also cause gynaecomastia.

The type of surgery used to correct this problem will be determined at your consultation with the surgeon. It may be possible to use liposuction to achieve a flatter more natural contour, or in some cases a male breast reduction needs to be performed to remove not only the excess fat, but also glandular tissue.

The operation is performed under a general anesthetic and an overnight stay will be required in a hospital. Occasionally, if only liposuction is used you may be discharged the same day, and a local anesthetic with sedation may be possible.

You will feel bruised and sore after this procedure and you will need to plan ten to fourteen days off work.

Pectoral Implants

You exercise. You work out. But no matter how rigorously you train, it appears that you just cannot develop or define your pectoral muscles. You are not alone. Even some bodybuilders have trouble developing pectoral muscles that are in proportion to the rest of their body. Here is where pectoral implants can help.

Pectoral implants can be used to improve the appearance of the chest in men with underdevelopment of their pectoral chest muscles or for men who have a congenital defect or deformity of the chest from disease or injury. The pectoral implants are placed under the existing pectoral muscle so that the pectoral implants do not feel or look artificial. Instead, the pectoral implants produce an appearance of a full and well-defined pectoral muscle.

Body shape and the length and size of your existing muscles will be the factors involved in determining the size of your pectoral implants. The surgery usually takes between one and two hours to complete and in some cases can be combined with liposuction in order to create optimal results. The combination of these two procedures can give you the optimal results you want.

Calf Implants

Everybody likes nice legs on a guy. Usually all the gym freaks develop their upper body and forget about their calves, which is an important part of your body when you are at the beach or wearing shorts in those hot summer times. Calf Implants, also called Calf Augmentation, is a procedure that gives the appearance of larger muscles of the lower legs.

They are made in a variety of sizes and are constructed of solid silastic. The consistency is firm yet rubbery and comparable with firm muscles.

Usually general anaesthesia is used for this procedure because your muscles need to be completely relaxed. The incision is made in the crease behind the knee and an opening called a pocket is made by dissecting around the calf muscle and opening up the area. Once the pocket is fully opened, the implant is squeezed through the incision and placed into the pocket. The incision is then closed and a dressing is applied.

Afterwards, patients will have to wear compression stockings for a time recommended by your doctor. There will be some time after surgery that you will not be able to move around very much and you will have to keep your legs elevated, then a longer time during which your activity will be limited. Most people move around very little for the first few days after surgery. It may be around a week before you can move about comfortably and longer than that before you go back to exercise.

The scars from this procedure are small and usually well hidden in the skin fold behind your knee.

Sharp Facial Surgery

Facial surgery aims to make you look younger, or, if you are already young, correct or reshape certain facial elements. For example, think your ears stick out too far? Ear pinning can tuck them in a bit closer to your hairline. No more Dumbo. Did your teen years leave your skin looking like the surface of the moon? Laser resurfacing can smooth out the indentations of acne scarring. Think you have a “weak” chin? Chin implants can reshape the silhouette of your jaw line.

Of course, facial surgery also includes facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid work, brow lifts, forehead lifts, nose jobs, and chin implants tucks.

The more minor facial surgery techniques are hardly “surgery” at all. Some procedures, like ear pinning, can be quickly performed during your lunch break. More intensive procedures, like all out facelifts, require a hospital visit and recovery time.
For men who want the big jobs, the hair growth on your scalp and face are a factor in where incisions can be made without being too visible. If you have thinning hair or are balding or if you have a high hairline, special artistry may have to be used in order to hide incisions.

Also, be aware that men have a richer blood supply in their face, so they are likely to bleed more than women would during surgery.

A man is also at a greater risk of temporarily having blood pool or collect under the skin following surgery, leading to greater bruising.

Finally, consider that you may have to wait up to three weeks following more serious facial surgery before you can shave again, and that drinking alcohol in the weeks following surgery can cause the areas that were treated to become red or flushed.

Buttocks Implants / or with Fat Grafting

Buttocks Augmentation is for those who are unable to develop proportionate gluteal muscles, lack buttock fat, or simply desire more augmentation in the buttock area.

Buttocks augmentation is performed with implants or your own fat, which can give a more balanced look or simply give you more curves.

They are made of an elastomer so they can’t leak. Placed into each buttock through a single 2-3 inch incision over the tailbone, the implants are placed to look as natural as possible. There are two primary options for buttocks implants – they can be placed either sub-muscular (intramuscular) or sub-fascial.

Since the implants will be directly in the sitting area, you will need to avoid sitting for two weeks after surgery. Obviously, you will need to sit for using the bathroom, but you should avoid putting pressure on the sitting area as much as possible. You will have to sleep, watch TV and rest in the prone position (on the stomach) for a two week period. You will be able to stand and walk on the day of the surgery or one day after. Expect to be off work for about 2 weeks. In about a month, you should be able to return to the gym or work out.
