This method is the preferred procedure for eliminating wrinkles without the need for surgery. It is completely safe and is an exceedingly simply procedure to perform since it requires no anesthetics. Botox® injections are basically made up of diluted botulinum toxin type A and are injected into the facial muscles, weakening or paralyzing the muscles which form the wrinkles by blocking the transmission between their nerve endings.

This procedure eliminates crow’s feet, brow lines, vertical lines between the eyebrows, smile lines, horizontal lines on the neck and any other irregularities on your facial skin. Not only is Botox® advantageous when it comes to changing the outlines of your face, but research has proved that it helps to alleviate migraines, muscles spasms (eyes and neck) and excessive sweating.

What Can I Expect

Whenever it comes to cosmetic treatment, you need to keep in mind that no surgery will ever provide a ‘perfect’ aspect to your face. The aim of this procedure is to achieve an improvement, to enhance your facial looks. This can help you augment your self-confidence and make you feel better about yourself, while keeping realistic expectations. This is one of the core values we have here at HCR; we want our patients to be completely satisfied with the results of their surgery and to heighten their self-worth.

Candidates for this procedure usually fall within the age range of 18 to 65. Keep in mind that Botox® injections cannot be administered to pregnant women. But if you are in good physical health, this method can be perfect for you.

By offering one of the best teams of surgeons in the industry, HCR is aware of the diverse types of needs our numerous patients may have. Therefore, we will provide the most excellent service for you, not matter what you are aiming for, and we will aid you in every possible way in your pursuit to enhance your appearance.

Procedure Planning

As with every other treatment, HCR obliges that their patients have a detailed discussion with their doctor before the surgery is performed. By doing so, both parties have the chance to place their input in the whole process and to increase the client’s level of satisfaction. When speaking with your doctor, please feel free to talk honestly and to express your qualms as well as your expectations. Your surgeon will help determine what isn’t or what is possible to achieve, aiding you to improve your looks in the best way possible.

During this initial meeting, your doctor will evaluate your condition and determine if this procedure is right for you. Some tests will be performed to determine if you are allergic to the Botox® cosmetic components. If you are, this method cannot be performed and you may have to choose another solution.

When preparing for your cosmetic treatment in Costa Rica, HCR will make sure to provide all the best possible services during your stay with us. We will arrange for your transport and will offer the best commodities during your recovery. All this can be arranged previously with our organization.

The Procedure

The good thing about Botox® injections is that it is a 10 minute non-surgical procedure. This means that your appointment will be over really quickly and you can fit in your sessions between your normal activities without needed to take the whole day off.

Your doctor will apply several tiny injections to the muscles causing your wrinkles or skin depressions. He/she will determine where to inject depending on your ability to move certain muscles in your face or neck, since the location, size and use of these muscles can lead to wrinkles or furrows. Botox® relaxes the muscles and prevents contraction, softening the wrinkles on your skin.

No anesthesia is utilized to perform this treatment, even though it can be applied if you wish. Keep in mind that pain or discomfort is minimal. These sessions are usually repeated once every 4 months.

After The Treatment

There is no ‘downtime’ after Botox® injections. You can go back to your normal activities as soon as you walk out of your doctor’s office. The results of the injections will become evident a few days following your session. However, you can expect mild swelling in the injected areas 4 to 24 hours after your appointment.

Keep in mind that you must not massage the treated areas, since it can make the toxin spread to other parts of your face. HCR encourages the use of your facial muscles 2 hours afterwards, so that the absorption of the toxin is accelerated.

Health Issues

As with any type of cosmetic treatment, complications are unusual, but they sometimes do happen. However, they are usually minor and can be reduced by precisely following your doctor’s directions before and after the procedure.

However, some problems related with Botox® injections are nausea, flu-like symptoms, headaches, temporary eye droop and respiratory infections.
